Job Description:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responsible for maintaining the thorough and timely cleanliness of the facility.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

1. Clean and sanitize sinks, toilets, showers, restrooms, locker rooms and other assigned areas of the facility.

2. Clean and maintain floors, walls, windows and other surfaces.

3. Empty all waste containers and dispose of trash.

4. Refill soap, paper towel, toilet paper and other supplies. Notify manager when supply stocks are getting low.

5. Report building and mechanical problems.

6. Perform various duties such as dusting, vacuuming and maintaining offices and entrances.

7. Perform sidewalk and outside cleanup.

8. Able to operate motorized and non-motorized equipment.

9. May set up and tear down tables and chairs for special events.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum of 16 years of age.

2. Prefer 6 months experience.

3. Reliable transportation.

4. Competent in reading and speaking English.

5. Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals.

6. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic

segments of the community

Physical Demands:

1. Sufficient physical strength to carry out duties.

2. Ability to erect and stand on ladders up to 15 feet.

3. Ability to work in a dirty and dusty environment.

4. Ability to be on feet for long periods of time.

5. Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking.

6. Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.

7. Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays. Compensation is $12.00 - $16.00/hour.
